No âmbito do programa de Investigação da Unidade “Cuidar e capacitar ao longo da vida”, existem actualmente as seguintes linhas de investigação:

The program of the Research Unit "Caring and capacitating throughout life," is currently organized in the following research lines:

ESTUDOS SOBRE INTERVENÇÕES EM ENFERMAGEM – Intervenções de enfermagem centradas na Pessoa, em especial em situação de saúde crónica –  Coordenadores: Maria dos Anjos Pereira Lopes; Marta Lima Basto.

NURSING INTERVENTION STUDIES - Nursing interventions focused on the Person, especially in chronic health conditions.

Finalidade:
    • dar suporte à prática baseada na evidência 
    • para responder à complexidade das situações clínicas (desenvolver, avaliar e implementar intervenções em saúde de grande complexidade).

Purpose:
    •  to support evidence-based practice 
    • to respond to the complexity of clinical situations (develop, implement and evaluate health interventions of great complexity).

Estudos que permitam:
     Desenvolver intervenções, avaliação da sua exequibilidade/pilotagem e implementação de intervenções, através de estudos indutivos e dedutivos.

Studies leading to:
     Develop interventions, evaluation of feasibility / pilot and implementation of interventions, through inductive and deductive studies.
 

EXPERIÊNCIA VIVIDA / LIVED EXPERIENCE

Finalidade:
    • Legitimar a subjectividade da realidade humana, conferindo-lhe o estatuto de conhecimento

Purpose:

    • To legitimize the subjectivity of human reality, giving it the status of knowledge

Estudos que permitam:
     Compreender a experiência vivida em situações de saúde em especial nas transições ao longo do ciclo vital (Estudos fenomenológicos, etnográficos, grounded theory,…)

Studies leading to:
     Understanding the lived experience of chronic health conditions especially in transitions over the life cycle (phenomenological studies, ethnographic, grounded theory, ...)

EPISTEMOLOGIA / EPISTEMOLOGY

Pretende-se utilizar formas de desenvolver conhecimento, incluindo o que emerge da prática e do vivido. Inclui a identificação de conceitos estruturantes da disciplina Enfermagem.

Aims to study ways to develop knowledge, including the wisdom emerging from practice and the experienced. Includes identifying key concepts structuring the discipline of nursing.

Estudos que permitam:

 Responder a duas questões fundamentais: Que conhecimento para a sociedade? Que conhecimento acontece na minha prática?

Studies leading to:
     Answer two fundamental questions: What knowledge for society? What knowledge that happens in my practice?

HISTÓRIA DE ENFERMAGEM / HISTORY OF NURSING
Coordenada por Maria Helena Silva

Contempla todos os projectos em que o investigadores recorram ao  metodo histórico para analisar um problema na área da saúde ou dos cuidados de enfermagem.

Includes all research projects using a historical method to analyze a health or nursing care  problem.

Estudos sobre a:
    • História da saúde e dos cuidados de enfermagem; 
    • História da educação e das instituições educativas; 
    • História militar; 
    • História das instituições hospitalares;
    • Outras.
O método histórico a utilizar, em qualquer uma destas áreas, será diversa, de acordo com o problema a estudar e o tipo de fontes disponíveis.

Studies about:
    • History of health and nursing care;
    • History of education and educational institutions;
    • Military History;
    • History of hospitals;
    • Other.
The historical method to be used in any of these areas will differ, according to the problem to be studied and the type of sources available.

EMOÇÕES EM SAÚDE / EMOTIONS IN HEALTH

     Compreender a experiência emocional dos clientes, na emocionalidade da vivência de doença e hospitalização e também da experiência emocional de cuidar dos enfermeiros.

     Understanding the emotional experience of clients, the emotionality of the experience of illness and hospitalization as well as nurses emotional experience of caring.

AMBIENTE ORGANIZACIONAL NA SAÚDE: QUALIDADE E GESTÃO DE CUIDADOS / HEALTH ORGANIZATION CLIMATE: QUALITY AND MANAGEMENT OF CARE

Estudos que permitam: 
     Reconhecer  as variáveis individuais e do contexto organizacional da saúde e avaliar o seu impacto na gestão e na qualidade de cuidados
     Desenvolver especificamente a liderança em enfermagem e a complexidade orgaizacional
     Conhecer a percepção de justiça e a satisfação dos cuidados
     Conhecer a cidadania organizacional dos enfermeiros
     Avaliar a qualidade dos cuidados: validação de instrumentos e indicadores /outcomes das intervenções em saúde
     Avaliar a experiência dos prestadores: enfermeiros e outros cuidadores

Studies leading to:
     Recognize individual and contextual variables of health organization and evaluate  their impact on the management and quality of care
     Specifically develop nursing leadership and organizational complexity
     Identify the perception of fairness and satisfaction of care
     Understand nurses' organizational citizenship
     Assess the quality of care: validation of tools and indicators / outcomes of health interventions
     Evaluate the experience of providers: nurses and other caregivers

FORMAR E APRENDER EM ENFERMAGEM / EDUCATING AND LEARNING NURSING

Estudos que permitam:
     Aprofundar conhecimento sobre a dinâmica do processo de aprendizagem no ensino de enfermagem, com base nas evidências pedagógicas no âmbito do desenvolvimento teórico, na sua relação com a prática clinica e o envolvimento pedagógico dos diferentes actores, neste processo.

Studies leading to:

     Deepen knowledge about the dynamics of the learning process in nursing education, based on pedagogic evidence about theory development, its relation with practice and the involvement of the various actors in the process.
 

OBSERVATÓRIO DE DESENVOLVIMENTO HUMANO E DA PROFISSIONALIDADE: A EDUCAÇÃO E A SAÚDE ENQUANTO UNIVERSOS COMPLEMENTARES
